Stations of the Cross

Meditations from True Life in God

5. Simon the Cyrene helps Jesus to carry the Cross
(Mt 27.32; Mk 15.21)

Fearing that I would expire before the Crucifixion, the soldiers ordered a man called Simon to bear My Cross. Daughter, it was not a gesture of kindness or compassion; it was to save Me for the Cross. [...] Bear My Cross, Vassula, bear it for Me. (November 9th, 1986)

Let Me leave My Cross on you again; unburden Me, let Me rest; I want you to bear it for Me because I trust you; [...] here now I entrust you with My Cross; soon you will realize how heavy My Cross is; later on I will come back to relieve you.
